Top Quality Flow Meters for Die Casting Industry

What is die casting? Die casting is a specific manufacturing process that produces sharply defined, accurately dimensioned, textured or smooth-surfaced metal parts. It relies on metal casting; a technique that forces molten metal under extremely high pressures into reusable mold cavities (also called metal dies).  Mould cavities are made using two toughened steel dies which are machined into a particular shape. They operate similarly to an injection mould. A majority of die casting are manufactured from various non-ferrous metals such as copper, zinc, aluminum, lead, tin-based alloys and pewter. The type of metal that is casted will determine whether a cold or hot chamber machine is used. The process of die casting is sometimes explained as the nonstop route between a raw material and a finished product. “Die casting” may also describe a finished part. What role do flow meters play in die casting? In die casting, a flow meter may be used in two situations: die cooling and or di

Delve Into the Liquid Flow Meter Specifications for the Industry

True to its name, a liquid flow meter is employed to measure the pace of a liquid. The proper device under appropriate conditions has the capability to determine with accuracy the flow rate of liquid in the pipeline or other transfer medium, as well as detect if there is any kind of leakage. This device has found numerous applications in both industrial and domestic arena, where the accurate amount of flow is screened, measured, and evaluated. Specifications of a Liquid Flow Meter These flow meters come with different mechanisms and technical features essential for determining the rate of liquid flow. The  liquid flow meter specifications for the industry  determine important features based on the character of the liquid, the domain of its application, and the operational values. Application of the device: Liquid flow sensors have found application in major field processes and engineering in plants where liquids play a vital role. They are used for several purposes

Accurate Liquid Velocity Measurement Meters: Proteus Industries Inc.

Liquid velocity flow meters are used when it becomes necessary to calculate the volumetric flow rate of a stream. A velocity flow meter calculates flow by computing the speed in one or several points in the flow and assimilating the flow speed over the total flow area. Velocity flow meters are commonly used in industries because they provide a nonstop measurement of fluid velocity; a trait commonly associated with flow rate. This type of flow meter is one of the most sensitive to processing conditions. Liquid velocity measurement meters function under the theory that there is a constant velocity profile. As a result, they are erroneous in the laminar regime. Inaccuracy occurs due to the large difference between fluid velocity at the center of the pipe and near the wall. As a result, velocity flow meters are very sensitive to Reynolds numbers and piping geometry. Examples of liquid velocity measurement meters include turbine, paddlewheel, electromagnetic and vortex s

Interesting Facts About Water Flow Meters and Sensors

Image
A water flow meter is a device which is used to measure the flow of liquid. It is also a useful device which facilitates in measuring the amount of liquid that flows through the pipes. These devices are generally installed in most of the industrial and domestic areas for the purpose of accurate measurement. It also helps to identify if there is leakage of water. Basically, there are two board classifications for these devices which include the velocity meter and the displacement water meter. The compound meters are another variety which is a unique combination of both the displacement and the velocity meters. However, there are different variations of these two meters which include different features and prices. In addition to the analog meters that are in use even today, there are digital meters which offer a higher level of precision and efficiency. These flow meters use various techniques to calculate and measure the flow of liquids. Some of the most commonly us

3 Tips When Buying a Liquid Flow Meter

Image
Choosing a mass flow meter requires a bit of knowledge about what is being measured. Both gas and liquid can be quantified using gauges that compute the flow at kilograms per second or liters per second in relation to the density of the material. Each device is different and you can't use the same meter for both wastewater plant and potable water, for example. But choosing one that's perfect for you will not be as difficult if you follow the tips below.   Make a checklist   What is the material to be measured: is it liquid or gas? If so, what type of liquid or gas are you working with? Is the liquid dirty or clean? Do you want the process the information manually or remotely? What about the temperature conditions of the plant and the material, are they hot or cold? Measuring hot water may need a gauge that will compensate for the change in temperature to get an accurate reading. Make sure you consider in your checklist the following: the liquid viscosity, corrosi
